Upskill People was founded in 1994. Our founder, Pete Fullard, wanted to do something different. He wanted to help people learn new skills in an engaging way using technology to make it simple.
Rupert is the driving force behind bringing Upskill People to Asia. He was inspired by the quality and effectiveness of the training produced by Upskill People in the UK and the supportive culture of the company.
Rupert believes high quality training, learning and development enriches people’s experience of work, fosters staff loyalty and creates measurable business value. He’s passionate about training that helps people reach their full potential and feel connected to the company they work for.
With a background in business development, Rupert has gained insight into a diverse range of companies across Asia – from multinationals to small family businesses. He hopes to develop long term relationships with his clients by bringing the benefits of Upskill People to help them achieve their business goals.
He has a degree in Economics from Birmingham University and for most of his career has been based in Singapore. In his spare time, he enjoys playing, coaching (and, of course, watching) rugby.
Johalia is passionate about new technologies and learning & development. She is excited to be part of the Upskill People team and help develop the business in Asia – through, innovative approaches and quality solutions.
Johalia has a background in Business Development, providing leading certification programmes for digital skills. She has helped raise digital competence standards in the workforce, educational sector and society, by enabling proficient use of ICT in APAC markets. Johalia has worked closely with educational and government institutions as an ICT consultant on projects and initiatives to improve digital literacy standards. This has included the Department of Skills Development in Malaysia and the Department of ICT in the Philippines.
Johalia holds a BA from South China University of Technology, majored in Chinese and International Business and Trade on a Full Scholarship from the Chinese Government. She has been based in Asia for more than 8 years. She speaks French, English and Mandarin Chinese and has a great understanding of French, African and Asian culture. In her spare time she enjoys training Thai boxing.
She is eager to help organisations improve their business, by empowering their people and helping them shine, through fully interactive and highly engaging courses. So, employees learn quickly, retain new knowledge and use their skills – saving clients time and money.
Pete is driven by his personal belief in the potential of people, and the potential for people to create value for business. He is forward thinking and always seeking ways to deliver learning in more effective and innovative ways, making use of the latest technology.
Pete is passionate about learning that is effective, measurable and cost-efficient. He believes in offering the best value for money, ensuring proven return on investment.
